Health & Safety Training and Courses UK - Nationwide coverage

Training and Courses Frequent Questions

What courses do you offer?

We offer a full range of health and safety training courses, providing both bespoke training and nationally recognised qualifications in health and safety. Our experienced training specialists can design and deliver the perfect programme to meet your needs, for the boardroom or the shop floor in any type of organisation.

If you can’t see the safety training course that need on our website, just contact us and we should be able to help you.

Where are the courses held?

At a location to suit you. Most clients prefer to hold the training in-house on their own premises but we are happy to run courses for you off-site, perhaps in a local hotel. We have our own training suites in Northamptonshire, Central London and in Kent which you would be welcome to use.

Do delegates get any form of certification?

All the nationally recognised courses conclude with an examination (optional). Successful candidates receive certificates from the awarding body. Certificates of attendance or achievement can be issued to delegates attending all other courses.

How soon can you deliver?

Usually within 4-6 weeks depending on the course required and current availability.

bullet

What is the cost?

Prices vary according to course to be delivered. For example, the First-Aid at Work Certificate is as little as £1100 for up to 12 people – that’s less than £100 per delegate!

We charge for training development and delivery on a daily basis, and will provide you with a written quotation before work begins. Discounts are available where higher volumes of work are placed. Our standard daily rate for training is £775. Nationally recognised courses have additional registration and certification fees. These are advised in advance and passed on at cost.

bullet

What training methods do you use?

We use a variety of methods during a course, depending on the subject and the course objectives.

Our philosophy is to “train by doing” which means that, wherever possible, we include practical exercises. This enables delegates to put the theory into practice, and see at the same time how it relates to their own workplace. This makes them feel more able and confident to use their newly-learnt skills when back at the workplace.

bullet

Who does the training?

We have many experienced, qualified trainers. We select the most appropriate trainer for the course content and the delegate group. All trainers undertake consultancy work and can bring that experience to the classroom, citing real workplace examples to illustrate and reinforce learning points.

What is IOSH ?

IOSH is Europe’s leading professional body for health and safety practitioners. The Institution works to promote the safety, health and welfare of people at work, and those affected by work activities.

The Institution believes that all employees have a vital role in protecting themselves, their fellow workers and the community from workplace hazards. It works to promote excellence in the field of occupational safety and health, and helps its members operating in this specialist area of work.

What is NEBOSH?

NEBOSH is an independent National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health. It is dedicated to raising the standards of occupational health, safety and environmental management by the provision and maintenance of a framework of robust, reliable and relevant awards.

Their qualifications are recognised and respected by employers in all sectors of employment, and provide a benchmark against which others are compared.

NEBOSH is the only health and safety awarding body that has been given accreditation by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA). The qualifications therefore provide evidence of real achievement.

bulletWhat is Highfield Awarding body for compliance?

Highfield Awarding body for compliance (HABC) is an independent awarding body that is authorised by the Regulatory Authorities (Ofqual, DCELLS and CCEA) to award Health & Safety and First Aid qualifications.

Formed in 2008, HABC was established to provide qualifications in sectors where trainers and corporate organisations expressed a need for high leves of customer service and quality. All of their qualifications are of a equal status to those provided by all other awarding bodies.

Working closely with the sector skills council the qualifications are therefore relevant and fully cognisant with industry and regulatory standards and are recognised by Environmental Health Practitioners, enforcement officers and auditors alike.
